Sudan: CBOS Organizes First Forum for Managers of Microfinance Units

Khartoum – The Microfinance Unit at Central Bank of Sudan (CBOS) organized on Wednesday a First Forum for the managers of microfinance’s units at banks at its premises.
The meeting deliberated on the program and future vision of the unit besides the issues and problems related to the performance of units of microfinance at the banks such as Murabaha’s margins, training, fees and taxes, the credit rating of microfinance clients and the network linking information between the unit and the banks as well default problems. The meeting also tackled the definition of microfinance and wholesale funding clients and the role of the nonbanking microfinance institutions, training in the field of value chain financing, capacity building of microfinance’s officers and the introduction of social advances and banking service via mobile.
The Chairman of the Microfinance Unit also reviewed the unit partnership with the Jeddah-based Islamic Development Bank and its progress between the two institutions and ways of its implementation.
