Nigeria: Microfinance Bank Donates to Orphans in Kaduna

Kaduna — As Muslims all over the world celebrate Eid-El-Fitr to mark the end of Ramadan, Microcred Microfinance Bank in Kaduna, as part of its social responsibility yesterday donated items to orphans at Jamiyar Matan Arewa Orphanage home.

The items donated include NAN baby food, Indomie, Juice and pampers among others. Presenting the items to the orphanage home on behalf of the bank, the Head of Corporate Services, Mrs. Emem Ekpikhe, said the gesture was borne out of the policy of the company of caring for the poor and giving back to the society where they make profit from.

She said: “We are to identify with the orphans following the mission of our bank which is to support the poorest of the poor. So at a time of celebration like this, we have come to show love to these little ones, support and encourage them as well as give them hope for tomorrow.

“We are not only concerned about doing business or taking from the people but also giving back to the society by helping the poor.”

She assured that the company that has been in Kaduna for about three years now with its head office in Paris will as often as it can continue to extend such gesture to the less privileged in various communities of the state.

Responding on behalf of the orphanage, the principal of Jamiyar Matan Arewa Premier School, Malam Haruna Rasheed Umar, thanked the bank for the kind gesture, praying that God continues to replenish them.

He said over 3,000 children have been given out for adoption to applicants by the orphanage after stringent process of investigation.

He charged well to do members of the society to always remember the poor by giving them the necessary support.
